The last month has been a time of great reflection for many of our students at JP2. Some of our Grade Twelve's participated in an overnight religion retreat to reflect on "Relationships – Past, Present and Future." They laughed together, ate together, swam together, and even shed a tear, or two, together. They were challenged to think about what trust is and how this could involve Jesus Christ.

Our grade 9's also enjoyed the retreat experience with the N.E.T team. A day of games, learning and prayer in which students dealt with the question "Who am I?"

Both of these experiences called upon our students to be more open - - to relationships, to others, to understanding themselves. Having an open heart is difficult amidst the pessimism of our fearful culture, but through following the example given in the life of our namesake, Pope John Paul II, we can see our way clear to be a culture of light and life.
